BIO - Based in Toronto, Ontario - keep you honest describes their music as having a “british vibe with a north-american aggression.” Influenced by bands such as Paramore, Billy Talent and Coldplay; keep you honest began as an independent recording project by Luke Adams and good friends - Adrian DeGroot and Johnny Dawson. Over the course of a year and a half, songs were written, songs were scrapped, songs were re-written, and eventually an 11 song album began to take shape. Wanting to not only write an album, but engineer it as well, Luke painstakingly spent the next year doing the master recordings and eventually mixed the entire album as well.

The result was a modern mix of vintage tone and infectious melodies, and the decision was soon made to take the album live. With Johnny and Adrian having other commitments, the band was re-built from the ground up with Caleb Arulampalam (guitar), Damian Hercules (drums) and David Lee (bass) coming on board to complete the line-up. Now, with a live-show fully honed, keep you honest is inviting you to tune in and watch their story play out. Driving beats, melodic vocals, ambient guitars, and a fuzzed-out bass should ensure you enjoy the ride.

Luke Adams - A native of Nova Scotia, Canada - Luke first picked up the guitar at age 13 and has been stricken ever since. Long hair, heavy metal, an acoustic phase, and several local bands - Luke has run the gamut that every aspiring guitarist should.

Wanting to try out a bigger pond, Luke moved to the Toronto area in 2005 (with his ever supportive wife - Megan) to pursue his dream of doing music for a living, and he soon met with some success - having the chance to play in opening acts for notable bands such as Theory of a Deadman, Default and Mobile.

Before too long, Luke began writing and recording his own material, and soon formed keep you honest. Luke loves killer guitar riffs, but his real passion is being able to combine those with great songs. He hopes you enjoy his attempt at this on keep you honest.

Damian Hercules - Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario - Damian Hercules began drumming at the age of 10. Influenced by his uncle and cousin who also play, he received one of his uncle’s old drum sets (which is now considered an antique) as a gift. He later received a set of cymbals from his parents to complete his first kit.

In the years that followed, Damian honed his craft taking formal lessons from many different teachers. During highschool, he formed his own drumline with a few friends and landed his first gigs – playing at school football and basketball games. He even accepted a paid gig playing at a rival school!

Currently, Damian is completing his final year in the Applied Music Program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. He’s had the opportunity to sit in with a diverse line-up of bands around the Toronto Area, and most notably - just finished a stint playing with Eric Mattei.

Looking back, all it took was the gift of an old drum set to change the course of his life.
